Terms of use
Last updated 24 August 2026. These terms govern use of affterwords.site and of any material purchased through it.
1. Acceptance and eligibility
Use of this site constitutes acceptance of these terms. Anyone who does not accept them should not use the site.
The site is intended for adults. Use is limited to persons aged 18 or over, or the age of majority in their jurisdiction if that age is higher. Material published here is not directed at minors, and accounts or purchases will not knowingly be accepted from them.
2. The publisher
Affterwords is an independent publication operating from Brazil. Correspondence is by email at support@affterwords.site. No postal address or telephone line is maintained, and email is the sole channel for notices under these terms.
3. Licence to use the material
Material published on this site and material purchased through it are licensed, not sold. The licence is personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable, and permits reading, downloading and printing for personal, non-commercial use.
The licence does not permit resale, redistribution, public posting, sublicensing, inclusion in a paid or free course, translation for distribution, or use as training data for a machine learning system. Short quotation with attribution and a link to the source page is permitted.
4. Intellectual property
Text, layout, stylesheets and the Affterwords name are the property of the publisher, except where third-party material is identified as such. Cited research remains the property of its authors and publishers; citations appear here under normal scholarly practice, and full papers are not reproduced.
5. No professional relationship
Nothing on this site creates a therapeutic, counselling, medical, legal or other professional relationship between the reader and the publisher. Affterwords publishes summaries of research. It does not assess, diagnose, treat, advise or supervise, and does not accept instructions to do so. The disclaimer forms part of these terms.
6. No claim of result
Affterwords makes no representation that reading anything published here will produce any outcome. Material is descriptive: it reports what named studies observed, in what samples, and what has been argued against them. Nothing here is offered as a method, a system, a protocol or a sequence of steps that produces a result, and no such characterisation by a third party is authorised.
7. Accuracy
Material is prepared with care and checked against its cited sources before publication, and is provided on an as-is basis without warranty of completeness. Research is revised, and a summary that was accurate on its publication date may be superseded. Errors are corrected as described on the masthead.
8. Third-party links
Links to journals, publishers and other external sites are provided for verification. Affterwords does not control those sites and is not responsible for their content, their availability or their privacy practices.
9. Payment, refunds and payment disputes
Prices are shown at the point of purchase in the currency stated there. Payment is processed by a third-party processor under its own terms; Affterwords does not receive or store card details.
Refunds are governed by the refund policy, which forms part of these terms. Where a purchase falls within the refund window, a request made by email will be honoured, and this is the faster route than a card dispute.
Where a chargeback or payment dispute is opened, Affterwords will provide the payment processor with records of the transaction, of delivery and of any correspondence. Access to purchased material may be suspended while a dispute is open. Rights available to consumers under applicable law, including the Brazilian Código de Defesa do Consumidor, are not affected by this clause.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the publisher's aggregate liability arising from use of this site or from any material purchased through it is limited to the amount paid by that person in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or for rights that consumer legislation reserves to the consumer.
11. Suspension
Access may be suspended or withdrawn where these terms are breached, in particular by redistribution of licensed material or by attempts to interfere with the operation of the site.
12. Changes to these terms
These terms may be revised. The revised version applies from the date shown at the top of this page, and continued use of the site after that date constitutes acceptance. Terms in force at the time of a purchase govern that purchase.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Disputes are subject to the Brazilian courts, without prejudice to any right a consumer has to bring proceedings in the courts of their own place of residence where local law provides for it.
